Common questions

What is housing?

Housing resources help people find a safe, affordable place to live. Options include public housing, rental assistance, and homes where support staff are available.

Who pays for housing?

Public housing and vouchers are based on income. Support staff in the home are usually paid separately, often through a waiver.

Can my Service Coordinator recommend a provider?

No. Under Ohio's Free Choice of Provider rule, county staff cannot promote one provider over another. They can point you to the Ohio DODD provider search and help set up interviews with the providers you choose.
